Singapore has been ranked among the lowest according to a recent report from Gallup on Employee Engagement in Southeast Asia.


According to Gallup’s report “A Great Manager’s Most Important Habit”, the first and foremost skill is CONVERSATIONS. Gallup’s researchers studied the most common characteristics of extremely meaningful and less meaningful conversations. In each of the 17 studies, Gallup had a test group of managers who went through upskilling and control groups of managers who didn’t. The sample study size was over 14,000 participants and 2,354 teams. The results are as follows:

·       Engagement rose by 10% to 22%;

·       Employee attrition reduced by 21% to 28%;

·       Performance improvement is 20% to 28% higher than their peers.
